Sep 5 begins the next quarter of our Sunday morning Adult Bible Study groups.
Adult Bible classes meet at 9:15 every Sunday morning. DiscipleLand for children age 2 through grade 6 as well as classes for Jr. and Sr. High students also begin at 9:15. We hope that every family will make a commitment to becoming a vibrant part of our Bible study ministries.
The Men’s Class
“Iron Sharpens Iron” –“Spirit Warrior”
This class, taught by Jeff Nixon, is open to all men, and will meet in the Prayer Room., next to the church office. It is based on a book written by former Green Beret captain Stu Weber. Listen to his words: “The church, Christian marriages and individual believers are standing at ground zero of a conflict that raged before our world began. This is no time to sleep on sentry duty or let your sword rust! The Commander in Chief has called us to take up our positions and stand our ground. The fighting is desperate. The stakes couldn’t be higher. But you don’t have to be a casualty!” This study will show men how to push back the enemy’s advance, protect their loved ones and step into the triumph of Jesus Christ.
Throughout the study Jeff will be weaving in some testimonies by believers with military backgrounds. Copies of “Spirit Warrior” will be available to those who desire to participate in the study. We are hoping that many of you will choose to be a part!
The Women’s Class
“Heart to Heart”- “Discerning the Voice of God“
This class is open to all women and will meet in the Parlor. Having a hard time knowing what God is saying versus what others are saying? This Bible study is designed to help participants know the voice of God: His language, character, and tone of voice. By growing closer to God through His Word, participants will be able to discern God’s voice from the voice of strangers. Written by author and teacher Priscilla Shirer, the study will be led by various members of the class and will incorporate video sessions and group discussion.
The Adult Class
“Truth Seekers” (adults)- “The Minor Prophets”
This class, taught by Robert Wood, is open to all adults and will meet in the Chapel. The study will span the first two quarters of the year, ending February 28. Join us as we delve into the wonderful, inspired yet sometimes scarcely read words of the writers known as the minor prophets.
Young Families Sunday School Class:
This class is intended for young couples with or without children and single/career adults with or without children(in their 20’s and 30’s). Children of young families will go to their age-appropriate Sunday School Classes. It is not designed for college age students – see the “INFuse- 20Somethings” group for College age students.
“Dynamic Duos”- “Fundamentals of the Faith“
This class, taught by Pastor Rick and Julie Prettyman is open to young couples and meets in the Logos Room. The spiritual house of the soul is only as strong as the foundation upon which it is built. “Fundamentals of the Faith” is a study designed to insure the believer’s foundation is strong indeed. Covering thirteen key biblical truths including, “How to Know the Bible,” “The Person of Jesus Christ,” “Salvation,” “God: His Character and Attributes,” “The Work of Christ,” “The Person and Ministry of the Holy Spirit,” “Prayer and the Believer,” “The Church: Fellowship and Worship,” “Evangelism and the Believer,” “Obedience,” “God’s Will and Guidance” and “Spiritual Gifts,” participants will be led on a journey through God’s Word that will help them stand firm both now and forever!

The Sunday School Program
Each quarter, teachers will have opportunities to teach classes lasting one or two quarters with topics chosen from a master list (a “scope and sequence”) that has been developed by our current teachers, pastoral staff and elders.
We believe the systematic study of God’s Word is foundational to the life of every believer and consequently, foundational to the the life and ministry of our church.
We are praying that an intentional approach to Bible study for adults will be an encouragement to you to take advantage of the opportunities we have to study and grow together. As the number of participants grows, we hope to be able to offer more classes each quarter as space allows.
